Kvernufoss (also known as Kvarnarhólsárfoss) is a stunning waterfall located in South Iceland 🇮🇸, tucked away in the Kvernugil gorge. This gorge is home to picturesque hyaloclastite and basalt formations, making it a sight to behold. Kvernufoss is one of the lesser known Icelandic waterfalls, situated on the Kverna river and standing at 40 meters (131 ft) tall. It is situated in a beautiful ravine and is often overshadowed by its more famous ‘colleague’, Skógafoss, which is located nearby.
